I used yarn from my stash, it's just a few rows of 1x1 rib in red, followed by several rows of white in stockinnette stitch, and topped with several more rows of 1x1 ribbing in red. I did a row of single crochet all the way around - doing three stitches in the same stitch at the corners to round them. I then did another row on both sides - started at the bottom corner and then continuing in chain stitch in order to make it into a necklace.
Awards were given out in three catagories.
Judy won for: "The Compulsively Crafty: Handspun, handyed and handmade!"
The green background was knit and then felted , the "Judy" was needle felted on, and the border was done with some of Judy's own handspun yarn! She put it on the box that she uses for her knitting notions.
Amanda won for: "Just Because: Just because we all really like it!"
She didn't even make a chart or anything- it was free form! She crocheted it - and then felted it. She used her own cat as a model, but figured out all of the embroidery on her own. It really is beautiful and we all really like it
And I won for: "The Cleverly Creative: The nametag that surprises us all and makes us think, "Now why didn't I think of that?"
